About the event
The Slave Legacy History Coalition is a consortium of individuals, organizations, and institutions dedicated to preserving the history of enslaved people in Cambridge, Boston, and beyond. Cofounder Egypt Lloyd’s work is inspired by her personal discovery of a family legacy rooted in the resilience of Black Bostonians. As descendants of Tony, Cuba, and Darby—who were enslaved by Isaac Royall, Jr., the man who endowed Harvard’s first law professorship—Egypt and her father are committed to connecting descendants and the general public to resources and information on slave legacy history.
Egypt Lloyd and her father are cofounders of the Slave Legacy History Coalition. She expects to graduate from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2026 with a degree in Aeronautics and Aerospace Engineering. She is a finalist for the Pattie Grace Smith Aerospace Engineering Fellowship and was accepted to the National Society of Leadership and Success Honor Society in 2024. She worked a…
